SCHOOL OF ONYRIC THEATRE
There are dreams that awaken us... theatre is one of those dreams
In 2013 Orland Verdú creates the ORACLES Teatre company in Barcelona, after passing through the Teatro de los Sentidos, in homage to one of Enrique Vargas's works. He wins numerous theatrical awards as a playwright and begins to investigate text from theatrical anthropology and the use of Tarot images. After his trip to Japan with the composer Keiko Fujiie, he started the ORACLES Theatre / Studio project as president of Grup Cultural EXEO in Barcelona, and invited numerous international butoh dance artists (Natsu Nakajima, Mushimaru Fujieda, Gyohei Zaitsu, among others ). In September 2017 he tried to open a pioneering theatrical training in Barcelona: International School of Arts in Movement, which did not prosper due to the terrorist attacks of that year and the political instability in Catalonia.
The first four years of ORACLES Theatre / Studio's life have served to investigate and integrate the principles of Dream Theatre, through numerous productions (ÍCARO, NAGASAKI, HAMELIN, MORPHEUS, PINOCCHIO, LA MUJER ESQUELETO, among others).
It was here that the Onyric Theatre School - Orland Verdú (2020) was born, where the Tarot beats as the engine of creation and scenic inspiration, butoh dance as an expressive language, the exploration of atmospheres, seduced by lighting and smell, and impoverished scenography.

Pedagogy
The ORACLES Theatre / Studio pedagogy is aimed at performing artists open to learning and exchanging experiences in the creation of Onyric Theatre works. Our goal is to offer students a research space with specific tools to develop their process of creation and staging based on their artistic identity.
Continuing education offers regular and intensive courses in Butoh dance (Puppet Body), dramatic writing, Stanislavski method performance, dream buffoon, stage mask work, Tarot archetypes, atmospheres and lighting, theatrical anthropology, sensory theatre, etc.
Our students are driven to develop three artistic axes: bone, muscle and skin. We understand by bone the underlying truth of the artist and the collective truth that drives them in the work they have chosen to bring to the stage. Muscle is the technique and repertoire of tools that each creator develops as a personal research method for the work. Finally, the skin is the particular style and the identity stamp of each artist in creating it. A piece is complete when the three artistic axes blend in an organic way.
The school requires from the student a spirit of free creation, and encourages them to find their own creative voice without foregoing a solid base of training based on the inherent truth or the spirit that inspires their creation.
Our program equips students with pedagogical tools, and at the same time encourages them to empty themselves of the desire for superficial expression. The expression must emerge by itself from an empty body and be encoded by the creator in a dream state. The techniques offered develop a physical, mental and imaginal training to turn the student into a bamboo pole. In this way, the actor is invited to learn the balance of paradox.
Students are trained to be strong in their art / craft, by carrying their message to the public, and to empty themselves by allowing the spirit or truth of the work to be expressed in them without consciously interfering. We call this physical / mental state 'lucid dreaming' as part of the Onyric Theatre methodology. The actor has to transform himself through the play / dream and bring the audience to the other side of the mirror, creating a different mental state to the ordinary. They are responsible for taking us into the world of the unconscious, and bringing us back.
